Anand College of Pharmacy, SGI organized an IPGA Sponsored National Conference on “Contemporary Challenges & Opportunities in Pharmacovigilance & Clinical Research” on 15th of April, 2023. Prof. (Dr.) Kashmira J. Gohil, Director of Anand College of Pharmacy and convener opened the conference, welcoming all guests and delegates and explaining the context of organizing this conference with the importance of Pharmacovigilance, Clinical research, and the need for adverse drug reporting, urging all the participants to deliberate and interact with experts and take the maximum benefits of the conference. Prof. (Dr.) Gyanendra Kr Sharma (CAC) and the organizing secretary of the conference discussed the importance of the conference. The chief guest, Dr. Deependra Singh, Chairman of the Educational Regulation Committee, PCI addressed the gathering on the need to conduct this conference and upcoming education regulations of the pharmacy council of India. The Guest of Honour Prof (Dr.) Arun Garg, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, MVN University, Palwal, Haryana addressed the delegates by mentioning the importance of the Pharmacovigilance system and announced the sponsorship of Rs. 25,000/- from IPGA for the conference. The special guest Dr. A. Manikandan (IAS, CDO, Agra) inspired and enlightened the students on career opportunities in the government sector. Prof. V. K. Sharma, Executive Vice President of Sharda Group of Institutions congratulated the entire Anand College of Pharmacy team for the event and shared his experience on the growth & challenges of the pharma sector in India. In the inaugural session, a conference souvenir and abstract book was released by all dignitaries on the stage. The souvenir and abstract book was appreciated by all. The expert panel of speakers consisted of Dr. Vivekanandan Kalaiselvan, (Principal Scientific Officer, IPC, Ghaziabad), Dr. Pooja Sharma (Founder, CEO, APAR Health, Gurugram) delivered lectures in technical session to discuss on contemporary challenges and opportunities in Pharmacovigilance and Clinical research. More than 430 delegates joined the conference including the faculties, research scholars, and students on and outside of the campus. More than 60 delegates also participated in the poster presentation competition. The conference was successfully concluded on a high note, with 'chai pe charcha' where various queries from the audience of students and staff were answered by the panel members of dignitaries. The hon. chairman sh. P. K. Gupta & vice chairman of SGI, sh. Y. K. Gupta congratulated & appreciated the efforts of all the team.
