A webinar was organized on "World Mental Health Day" at Hindustan College of Science and Technology, prestigious institute of Sharda Group of Institutions. In the webinar the subject for discussion was awareness about ‘Positive Mental Health'. The Chief Guest of the program was Dr. Rachna Khanna Singh, Head of Holistic Medicine and Founder and Director of Wellness at Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon and Mind and Wellness Studio, Delhi.

Approximately 100 participants participated in this webinar.  Director of the college Prof Dr. Rajiv Kumar Upadhyay welcomed the chief guest and said that it is very important for every human being to be mentally strong especially during this Covid19. 

He hoped that this program would be beneficial and made the participants aware of mental health.

 Chief Guest Dr. Rachna Khanna thanked the Director of the Institute and the Head of the Department of Biotechnology,Mr.Ajay Kumar and  Stated that the mental state of a human being is like the CPU of the computer.  The work that the CPU does in the computer is the brain of a human being.  It is very important for us to be mentally healthy to work every day.  She said that six areas are very important for the wellness of human beings: environment, sentiment, intellectual, physical, social and Spiritual. 

 She also said that to be mentally healthy, it is important to remain physically healthy as well.  She also laid emphasis on spirituality.  She threw light increased on stress management.  She said that you should not work under pressure if you want to be mentally healthy. For this, she suggested to make proper schedule of the daily work. She asked to exercise daily to be mentally fit and said that exercise provides you health in both physical and mental fields.  He motivated the participants to do exercises and yoga. She also advised to have positive thinking.  The program was conducted by Vaishnavi Gupta, student of the Department of Biotechnology third year.  On this occasion all the deans, heads of department and teachers of the institute were present.
